Changing Lives with Song
Allegro was established to enrich, inspire and transform the lives of children and youth by learning, sharing and performing beautiful music.
Since its creation in 2000, Allegro
has grown from one choir of 38 singers, to almost 200 singers in four ensembles: Poco Allegro, Vivo Allegro, Allegro con Moto, Allegro con Brio. A new Young Men's choir (Allegro con Spirito) will be added this fall. Drawn from across the Kansas City metro area, Allegro singers come from private, public and home-schooled environments.
Allegro offers numerous free concerts each season as community outreach and also performs 4 major concerts. Allegro singers have performed in Canterbury Cathedral, England, St Peter's Basilica in Vatican City, Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts and will sing this spring at Carnegie Hall.
