Allegro's 2010-2011 Concert Season Auditions are now closed.

Auditions for our 2011-2012 Concert Season will be held:

April 25 and 26, 2011

     Audition Location: Asbury Methodist Church

  5400 West 75th Street, Prairie Village, KS  66208

 

Singers currently in grades 2-11 are welcome to audition.

The auditions are by appointment only.  We will begin accepting appointments in March, 2011.

Audition Requirements:

  1. Any young person that loves to sing and is currently in 2nd through 11th grade may audition.
  2. A Teacher Recommendation form must be completed and signed.  Bring the form to your audition or mail it to:

  1. Families are encouraged to read through Allegro's current Handbook and Attendance Policy before coming to the Singer's Audition Appointment.  An Allegro staff member will be available at the Audition to answer questions and provide additional information.
  2. Bring a parent to the audition to attend a brief presentation, meet the staff and complete registration paperwork.

What to Expect During the Audition:

  1. The Audition process will take 40-50 minutes.  Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your assigned audition time to check in, complete paperwork and have your photo taken.
  2. Singers will:
    1. Take a theory placement test (Singers eligible for Vivo or Moto Choirs only)
    2. Sing simple vocal warm-ups and exercises in an ensemble setting.
    3. Sing My Country Tis of Thee (first verse only in the Key of G) and Happy Birthday (Key of E or E-flat) in an ensemble and as a solo.
    4. Sight read simple melodies (Singers eligible for Vivo or Moto Choirs only)
    5. Listening and harmony exercises
    6. Prepare and sing Star Spangled Banner (first verse only) unaccompanied in the key of B or C (Singers eligible for Vivo or Moto Choirs only)
